How to Manually Fail a Drive in BlueArc NAS storage

Manually failing a drive is done through the use of SANtricity. SANtricity is started in Storage Management > Storage Utilities > Launch SANtricity. You will be prompted
twice for login/password combos. To enter the second login/password combo you need to
enter the login and then hit the “Enter” key to provide the password. When typing the
password, nothing will display on the screen. Hit the “Enter” key again to have the
login/password combo accepted. This will provide access to the storage enclosure using
SANtricity.
From alert message identify which enclosure, which tray and which disk in tray has to be failed.
From the menu select Advanced -> Recovery -> Fail Drive. Type “yes” to confirm the
manual fail.
